Rage Against The Machine Leads Charge Against Venues With Spy Tech

Artists everywhere are taking up the fight against AI. The film and TV writers strike led by the Writers Guild of America is pushing back against the use of AI in entertainment. But musicians are also fighting Big Tech, although a different kind.

Rage Against The Machine, led by band members Tom Morello and Zack de la Rocha, are actually raging against the tech machine- along with a reported 100 artists- to boycott any venues that employ facial recognition software. It was recently discovered that Madison Square Garden used the tech to identify lawyers at shows involved in legal actions against the venue… and kicking them out of the show. Creepy, eh?

RATM and colleagues have joined activist group Fight For The Future in its effort. “This tech is starting to spread,” warned the org in a statement. “Not only as a surveillance tool but also as a form of ‘paperless’ ticketing and payment.” The movement has also enlisted the help of New York City council member Shahana Hanif.

Noel Gallagher Is Mad That Guns 'N Roses Is Headlining Glastonbury:

Here we go again. Former Oasis superstar (and current High Flying Birds frontman) Noel Gallagher has added more beef to his numerous ongoing feuds. This time it’s perhaps an even bigger rock legend than him- Guns ‘N Roses. Speaking on the huge UK festival Glastonbury, Gallagher admitted he wasn’t too happy that the American band was invited to headline. “I thought, ‘What? Are you being serious? That’s crazy s**t,” he griped. “When you think of all the huge British artists who’ve had albums out this past year, having Guns N’ Roses headlining the Saturday is mad.” Oddly, it isn’t the first time an American act has headlined the British event- as Billie Eilish and Kendrick Lamar both headlined last year. Gallagher himself was angered in 2008 when Kanye West got top billing. Maybe Noel Gallagher likes to pick fights?

Paul McCartney Clarified the New Beatles Record Doesn't Have Anything Artificially Created

Paul McCartney walked back his recent comments that the upcoming NEW Beatles record was made using artificial intelligence.

He says, quote, "No one is more excited than us to be sharing something with you later in the year.  We've seen some confusion and speculation about it.  Seems to be a lot of guess work there . . .

"Can't say too much at this stage but to be clear, nothing has been artificially or synthetically created.  It's all real and we all play on it.  We cleaned up some existing recordings, a process which has gone on for years."

Paul says more will be announced in "due course," which probably means a release date.
