FOO FIGHTERS Intros New Drummer, Covers Nine Inch Nails.

The holiday weekend was a big one for Foo Fighters. The Dave Grohl-fronted band officially introduced their new drummer Josh Freese, covered another band’s classic hit, and even reunited with an extended member of their rock family.

Freese joined the band for their first concert of 2023 in New Hampshire. Foo Fighters then rolled on to Boston and Ohio’s Sonic Temple Festival. And it was at Sonic Temple that the band made Freese feel at home by playing one of his former band Nine Inch Nails’ classic hits, “March Of The Pigs.”

And in Boston, Foo Fighters welcomed back Shane Hawkins, son of the band’s late drummer Taylor Hawkins. Shane caught the world’s attention last year after nailing his dad’s solo on the group’s hit “My Hero” at the tribute concert in London. This time around, Shane jammed with the band on “I’ll Stick Around.” Check out Foo Fighters’ cover of “March Of The Pigs” on the right.
