Tool's Maynard Keenan James Protests Florida By Performing in Drag.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s recent policies have been drawing the ire of everyone from Disney to Twisted Sister frontman Dee Snider. And now, another rocker has shown his disdain for the controversial politician by performing in drag.
Tool singer Maynard Keenan James seemed to be pushing back against DeSantis’ anti-drug legislation by performing over-the-top makeup and fake breasts at “Welcome To Rockville” over the weekend. The festival was held in Daytona Beach, FL.
"My band would not be allowed to perform,” said Snider of his long-hair and make-up-wearing style. "We would fall under that heading, the new rule, if they pass these rules — men wearing lipstick, nail polish, and makeup." Like Snider, James has also donned different looks throughout the years, but onlookers noted his recent style pointed at the current policies in Florida.

Kiss Ditches The First Part of European Farewell Tour.
KISS’ farewell tour has never been an easy undertaking… and is dealing with another obstacle. The “End Of The Road” tour, originally announced in 2018 and halted a number of times, has cancelled parts of its final European circuit.
Citing “logistical reasons,” the Paul Stanley-fronted rock icons a June 3rd performance in the UK. Travel and equipment shipping issues are being blamed for the cancellation, which will now push KISS’ European opening back to June 5th in Birmingham, England.
KISS is the newest band added to a growing list that has found it difficult to tour in a post-covid world. Not too long ago, we told you that Machine Head canceled their entire spring tour due to “work visa issues.” KISS is set to close the book on their long career as “The End Of The Road” winds down in December.

Type O Negative Drops AI-Produced Video Starring Dead Rockers.
Hey, rock fans, are you nervous about AI yet? Because you might want to start thinking about that. A top metal group has released a new song generated almost entirely by Artificial Intelligence.
Goth metal pioneers Type O Negative dropped an AI-version of “Halloween In Heaven” in celebration of World Goth Day yesterday, which makes us wonder if they were being ironic. The song was written by Peter Steele, but everything else about the video was created using AI software that made the images then turned them into a rock video.
And the freakiest part? The video includes appearances from dead rockers Dimebag Darrell and John Bonham. While drummer Johnny Kelly might find it humorous, saying “An artificial intelligence video for an artificially intelligent band,” creator Corinne Larre has stayed respectful of musicians. “I think it’s necessary to remain humble when using artificial intelligence as the topic has quite rightly caused some ethical debate in the creative world,” said Larre. Check out the AI-produced “Halloween In Heaven” on the right.
