Hold the Ice:  Watering Down Your Drink Makes Whiskies Taste the Same

There are many ways to drink whiskey:  Neat . . . on the rocks . . . and swigging it straight out of the bottle alone on your couch.

And everyone has their preference on ICE:  Some feel like any amount of ice takes away from the flavor, while others believe that a cube of ice or a splash of water is important to "open up" the spirit.

But a new study shows that if you're going to use the ice method, you should finish your drink before all the ice melts.

Researchers say that in a chemical analysis, a ratio with over 20% water dilutes the flavor and changes the taste profile.  And if the ratio gets to 40% water / 60% whiskey, ALL whiskeys will begin to smell and taste the same, which isn't what you want . . . especially if you're enjoying something nice and expensive.

And 20% is not a lot.  A standard whiskey-on-the-rocks pour is two ounces, and one regular ice cube is generally the equivalent of one ounce.  So if that one cube melts all the way, it becomes 33% of the liquid.

Costco Shoppers Say These Are The Best Wings Money Can Buy.

Wings are a staple for a lot of people, and Costco fans say they’ve identified the absolute best wings they’ve ever had…and they’re in the freezer section.

The Foster Farms Take Out Crispy Chicken Wings, available in Classic Buffalo and Sweet Chipotle BBQ flavors, are available for around $24 at some locations, but your price and availability may vary.

These wings came to everyone’s attention thanks to a Reddit post calling them the “best wings I ever bought.” That led to a flood of positive reviews for the wings, with some saying they’re better than takeout wings…as long as you prepare them right. What’s the “right” way? A common answer to that question is “air fryer.” Be warned, though; while the wings are getting rave reviews, the sauce that comes with them is getting comments like “meh” and “god awful,” so you may want to add your own sauce.
