Elon Said He's Paying for LeBron James, Stephen King's Twitter Blue Check

Yesterday, Elon Musk started removing those blue check marks from Twitter accounts that aren't paying their eight bucks a month.  But some people who said they'd refuse to pay still have them.

Elon said he's "personally" paying for a few Twitter Blue subscriptions for celebrities.  He later clarified that it's just for William ShatnerLeBron James, and Stephen King.

It's worth mentioning that when he says "paying," he probably just means he's giving it to them for free.

King didn't seem too excited about it.  He said, quote, "My Twitter account says I've subscribed to Twitter Blue.  I haven't.  My Twitter account says I've given a phone number.  I haven't."

To which Elon replied, quote, "You're welcome, namaste."

Ice T also joined in and said, quote, "Thanks Stephen.  Don't believe the hype."

As of last night, Ice T still has his blue checkmark without subscribing.

He said, quote, "The fact that we're even discussing blue check marks is a sad moment in society."

But the same can't be said about other celebrities like Halle Berry, Ciara, Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, and The Game . . . who all lost their blue checks.

Ciara said, quote, "Blue check or no check . . . I know my fans still checkin."
