Would You Try a Peanut Butter and Jelly Cheeseburger?
This sounds like something your five-year-old would suggest for dinner: The fast-food chain Culver's is testing a new bacon cheeseburger with PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY.
It's called the "PBB&J Pub Burger," . . . short for "Peanut Butter, Bacon, and Jelly." (Culver's has locations in 26 states, mostly in the Midwest.)
It's a single patty with cheese and two strips of bacon on a pretzel bun. Then there's a healthy layer of peanut butter under the patty and what looks like a big glob of grape jelly. (Here's a photo.)
Someone spotted it on the menu at a location in Wisconsin, where Culver's headquarters are. It's unclear if they plan to roll it out to other stores.
Sonic had a "Bacon Jam Cheeseburger" in 2021 with a "savory bacon onion jam." So we've seen jelly on burgers before, but they usually go fancy with it. This looks more like a spoonful of Smucker's. And Sonic's did NOT have peanut butter.
Whether it's good or not, we don't know. But some people think it's overpriced either way. The burger alone is $8.39.
