The 2023 Rock Hall Nominees Are Out
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their nominees yesterday for the 2023 Class. There are 14.
Eight of them are FIRST-TIME nominees. They are: Sheryl Crow . . . Missy Elliott . . . Joy Division/New Order . . . Cyndi Lauper . . . George Michael . . . Willie Nelson . . . The White Stripes . . . and Warren Zevon.
The other six are: Kate Bush . . . Iron Maiden . . . Rage Against the Machine . . . Soundgarden . . . The Spinners . . . and A Tribe Called Quest.
It's also the first year of eligibility for Missy and The White Stripes. To be eligible for the ballot, each nominee's first single or album had to have been released at least 25 years before the induction year. So, in this case, 1998 or earlier.
First-year eligible acts that DIDN'T cut include Coldplay, Britney Spears, Muse, System of a Down, and Lauryn Hill.
Voting for the FAN VOTE is currently open until April 28th on the Rock Hall's website.
The official Class of 2023 will be announced in May, with an induction ceremony sometime in the fall.

Slipknot, Pantera, Limp BIzkit To Headline Inkcarcerartion Lineup
Unique “music & tattoo festival” Inkcarceration has revealed its lineup for its summer festival, and they’re leading with some big names. Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, and the recently reunited/currently embattled metal legends Pantera are set to lead as headliners.
Inkcarceration covers three days and is set at the same prison used in “The Shawshank Redemption”- Ohio State Reformatory. Other acts that are confirmed to join the eclectic event include Megadeth, Lamb of God, and Flyleaf with Lacey Sturm.
The Mansfield, OH event takes place from July 14th – 16th and offers both single and weekend passes. Tickets are on sale now at the festival’s website.

Noel Gallagher To Co-Headline Splendour Festival With Madness
Oasis singer Noah Gallagher is not letting all the drama with his brother Liam Gallagher get him down. The Brit rocker is taking his post-Oasis project High Flying Birds on the road. And he’s bringing guests with him.
Gallagher has announced HFB will join Brit ska/pop band Madness as headliners of this year’s Splendour Festival in Nottingham, UK. But in addition to Madness, the fest has added The Kooks, Sugababes, and Sam Ryder to the lineup. This is the latest news from Gallagher, who recently announced his new album “Council Skies” will drop June 2nd.
The 15th-anniversary edition of the Splendour Festival will be held July 22nd and 23rd, and expects to add more bands to their lineup soon. Tickets go on sale this Friday (February 3rd).
