Rock Hall Of Fame Issues A New Mission Statement To Include Country And R&B

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame has ended the controversy. Just days before it reveals its newest candidates for induction, the Hall has responded to recent criticism about inducting artists from outside the rock genre. The most notable recent example of this was Dolly Parton’s refusal to accept her nomination due in part to the scandal.

“I don’t feel I have earned that right,” Parton said. But the Hall disagreed with her, and she was inducted anyway. Other non-rock inductees include LL Cool J and Enimen. And potentially to stop inevitable backlash this year, the Hall issued its policy for all to read.

"From its inception, rock 'n' roll has had deep roots in rhythm & blues and country music," wrote the Rock Hall. "It is not defined by any one genre, rather a sound that moves youth culture. Born from the collision of rhythm & blues, country and gospel, rock 'n' roll is a spirit that is inclusive and ever-changing. The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame celebrates the sound of youth culture and honors the artists whose music connects us all.”

Five Times an Artist Had to Eject a Fan from a Concert

UltimateClassicRock.com put together a list of times when artists had to eject concertgoers themselves. These interactions were also caught on camera. Here are five of them:

1.  Dave Grohl kicked out a guy for fighting at a Foo Fighters show in 2011.

2.  AC/DC guitarist Angus Young had a beer tossed at him. When security was escorting the guy out, Angus went up to him and grabbed him by the nose.

3.  Kurt Cobain stopped midperformance to kick out a guy who was groping a woman in the front row.

4.  Morrissey got rid of a drunk heckler who kept calling Morrissey a "wanker".

5. When Axl Rose was running Guns N' Roses without the original lineup, he did NOT appreciate when fans wore shirts referencing those days. He's even had fans ejected for wearing T-shirts with Slash on them.

(Profanity Warning: There's the video for each ejection, but some contain profanity.)
