Music: Van Conner, Dolly Parton's Rock Album, Korn, Fallout Boy, and More!

Van Conner, Co-Founder of Screaming Trees, Passes.

Northwest alt-rocker Van Conner has passed away. The Screaming Trees co-founder died following what his brother and Trees co-founder Gary Lee called “an extended illness.” “It was pneumonia that got him in the end. He was one of the closest friends I ever had, and I loved him immensely. I will miss him forever and ever and ever.”

The Washington-based band was formed in 1984 by the brothers with singer Steve Lanegan and drummer Mark Pickerel. They played for small labels throughout the ‘80s before becoming one of the major players in the grunge scene. Screaming Trees made a steady rise in popularity, but internal tension between Lee and Lanegan eventually pulled the band apart.

Conner formed his own band, Gardener, and occasionally played alongside Lanegan. Conner was 55.

Ugly Kid Joe To Tour For First Time Since ’96.

It’s never too late to hit the road. At least, that’s what California rockers Ugly Kid Joe seem to think. The “America’s Least Wanted” band has announced that, after 27 years, they’re going to tour in the US again. This follows the October release of their newest album, “Rad Wings Of Destiny.”

The band briefly reunited in 2012 to tour internationally, but they have not performed on their home soil since 1996. Joining them on the road will be the opening act Pistols At Dawn, with occasional support from Fozzy.

The tour kicks off on May 3rd and will travel the country before wrapping up in San Antonio on June 10th. Tickets go on sale this Friday (January 20th).

May 11 - Rise, Houston, TX
