Nirvana, Ann Wilson, And More To Get GRAMMY Lifetime Achievement Awards

The GRAMMYs has announced this year’s recipients of their highest career honor. Nirvana, The Supremes, and Heart’s Ann Wilson and Nancy Wilson are among 2023’s Lifetime Achievement Award honorees. The awards are distributed at the Special Merit Awards Ceremony on February 4th, which is separate from the main televised event.

This ceremony will also recognize the Trustees Awards, the Technical GRAMMYs, and the unannounced winner of the category for Best Song of Social Change.

Joining the previously mentioned honorees for Lifetime Achievement are Ma RaineyBobby McFerrin, Nile Rodgers, and Slick Rick.

Daughtry And Lzzy Hale Drop Cover Of “Separate Ways"

Almost 40 years later, Journey’s power ballad “Separate Ways (Worlds Apart)” is getting a daring makeover. Daughtry and Lzzy Hale dropped a powerful duet of the Steve Perry-led hit, saying “it’s truly an honor” to record the song together. Hale acknowledged the song’s recent jump in popularity due to making an amped-up appearance in the recent season of “Stranger Things.” She also called it her “go-to karaoke song for as long as she can remember.”

This is Daughtry’s first release since “Dearly Beloved” in 2021, while Hale’s band Halestorm dropped “Back From The Dead” last year.

Quavo Wrote a Tribute Song for Takeoff 

 

 

Quavo released a tribute song to his nephew and Migos bandmate Takeoff.

 

 

It's called "Without You," and it starts with the verse, "Tears rolling down my eyes / Can't tell you how many times I cried / Days ain't the same without you / I don't know if I'm the same without you."

 

 

It also says, quote, "Out in the galaxy / Up in the stars / Over the Universe / It's bigger than Mars / See you in heaven, see you in heaven / When I see you in heaven, I'ma be with my dog."

 

 

Takeoff was shot and killed at a bowling alley in Houston on November 1st. The suspect in his murder, 33-year-old Patrick Xavier Clark, has pleaded not guilty. He was just released to house arrest on $1 million bond.
