Elon Musk did a bit of gambling this year. So did it pay off? Not yet. Thanks to Tesla's plummeting stock price and his purchase of Twitter, Musk is no longer the world's richest man.
Not long ago, he was worth $340 billion. But over the year, he's lost $100 billion in Tesla stock . . . and paid a ridiculous $44 Billion for Twitter. With all his losses, he's down to a mere, pitiful $168.5 billion.
The NEW richest man in the world is Bernard Arnault, a major shareholder in the French multinational corporation LVMH. He's worth $172.9 billion.
