Music: Soundgarden & Vicky Cornell Mark Fifth Anniversary Of Chris's Death

Soundgarden And Vicky Cornell Mark Fifth Anniversary Of Chris Cornell's Death

Vicky Cornell and the remaining members of Soundgarden paid tribute to Chris Cornell on the fifth anniversary of his death by suicide. In a statement, Vicky said “5 years ago today, would be the worst day of our lives. It would be the last time Chris would hug & kiss us, the last time he’d walk out our front door. The last time he’d wave goodbye to us from the car. The last time we’d ever see him.”

She ended her statement with words of appreciation for the fans, asking them to “blast your favorite Cornell song and throw your love up in the air.”

The surviving members of the band kept things short and simple with their tribute, saying, “Chris, Five years we have missed you. You have love. You have peace. You have eternity. Love and peace for all of Soundgarden’s brothers and sisters.”

Pearl Jam Cancel Final Two Shows On Spring Tour After Bassist Gets COVID

COVID has finally done in the Pearl Jam tour. The band just announced they have been forced to cancel the last two dates on their “Gigaton Tour" - last night’s show in Sacramento and tomorrow’s concert in Las Vegas - after bassist Jeff Ament tested positive for COVID.

“While the band battled through Oakland after drummer Matt Cameron tested positive for Covid, and Fresno where Ed and the band got through it with the help of Dave Krusen as a special guest drummer,” they share, “they now have to present the heartbreaking news that this morning bassist Jeff Ament has tested positive for Covid.”

They add, “This is horrible for everybody involved and we are especially sorry to those out there who have made plans to attend these shows,” noting, “Our attention to staying inside the bubble has been constant. We have truly done all that we could have to remain clear of infection.”

The band will not be rescheduling either show and refunds will be automatically given. They add, “We are so very sorry. Be safe out there”

Porno for Pyros Is Performing Live for the First Time in 26 Years This Weekend

PORNO FOR PYROS is performing live for the first time in 26 years on Sunday at the Welcome to Rockville festival in Daytona Beach, Florida.

JANE'S ADDICTION was supposed to play, but they had to pull out because DAVE NAVARRO is going through a long bout with Covid. So PERRY FARRELL got his OTHER band to step in.

Perry said, quote, "We are blue that Jane's cannot be with you . . . I am still coming to Daytona . . . myself, Stephen Perkins, Peter DiStefeno and Mike Watt. We'll play some Jane's songs for you as well, but for now let's recall: My boat's capsized it's gonna sink to the bottom. I can see the lights on the shore."

To be clear, Porno for Pyros reunited in 2009 to play at Perry's 50th birthday celebration, and were part of Lollapalooza's 2020 livestream. But this will be the first time playing live onstage in 26 years.

Oasis Guitar Broke In Liam/Noel Breakup Argument Sells At Auction

Liam and Noel Gallagher had a fight backstage at the Rock en Seine festival in Paris in August 2009, leading to Oasis canceling their set at the last minute after Noel quit the band. During the scuffle, Noel’s red Gibson ES-355 guitar was broken.

It was announced last month that the guitar would be going up for auction, and experts expected it to go for big money…and it did. The winning bid came in at just over $400k, and the question of why Noel decided to sell the guitar has been answered.

Arthur Perault, the co-founder of the Artpeges gallery that held the auction, says Noel auctioned the guitar because “it reminds him too much of Oasis.”
