Food: You Can Get Free Fries at Burger King Weekly for the Rest of the Year

You Can Get Free Fries at Burger King Every Week for the Rest of the Year

Burger King has been trying to get people to sign up for their free rewards club and drive business to their app. Now they're taking the FREE FOOD route to make it happen.

They're running a deal where you can get FREE FRIES with any order, once a week for the rest of the YEAR. And you can choose small, medium, OR large. You just have to download their app and sign up for their "Frequent FRY'ER" program by June 20th.

You can't use other coupons, and it's not available for delivery. But it apparently works with any purchase. So you could even buy one fry, and get a second fry for free.  (Their tweet about it yesterday just said, "Fries. That's the tweet.")

It's National Pretzel Day! Here's How to Get One for Free

It's National Pretzel Day, and two big brands are offering free hot pretzels. Yes, probably the only two brands you can think of.

Auntie Anne's is offering one free original or cinnamon sugar pretzel today. You just have to download their app, and sign up to be a "Pretzel Perks" reward member.

Or anyone can stop by Wetzel's Pretzels and get a free one, no questions asked. You just have to show up after 3:00 P.M.  (So, a free lunch at Auntie Anne's . . . then a free late lunch at Wetzel's . . . followed by me on the scale tomorrow wondering how I just gained two pounds.)

A Yankees Fan Was Caught Dipping His Hot Dog in Beer: Yay or Nay?

Hot dogs and beer are sometimes the best part of going to a baseball game. But how about DIPPING hot dogs into beer? One YANKEES fan was caught enjoying this concoction in a now-viral video on Twitter.

But before you diss the idea, think about it this way: If you're enjoying a hot dog and a beer together, chances are there's some cross-pollination going on in your mouth. So why not combine them BEFORE shoving them in your face?

Is there really a HUGE difference?

A sports columnist on Twitter tried it with his friends and said, quote, "Don't knock it until you try it. It's the new stadium tradition."

So, there you have it. But oh, if you DO try it, it's probably best to have your hot dog PLAIN. Unless you want toppings in your beer.

(What other snack bar combinations would you want to try?)

McDonald's Asked Fans to Suggest Old Menu Items They Should Bring Back

If you ask a question this vague, expect answers: Late last week, McDonald's asked fans on Twitter which discontinued item they should BRING BACK. All they posted was, "bring back [BLANK]".

Now people think it means they WILL be bringing something back soon. And obviously the internet has thoughts. Here are the ones people have mentioned most . . .

1. The big one seems to be the McPizza, which was around in the '80s and '90s. It seems unlikely they'd bring that back. But whoever runs their twitter responded and joked that they send their boss a daily email that just says, "McPizza when?"

2. Their BTS Meal from last year, as in the Korean boy band BTS. It came with 10 McNuggets, a medium fry and drink, and two special sauces . . . Cajun and Sweet Chili. So it's really about bringing the sauces back.

3.  All-Day Breakfast. They stopped doing it when covid hit. Now it varies by location.

4. The McDLT. It was just a normal burger with lettuce and tomato. But it came in a weird container with two sides . . . one to keep the burger warm, and a separate side to keep the toppings and condiments cold. It got discontinued in 1998.

5. Here are a few more they could go with:  Snack Wraps . . . the Arch Deluxe . . . Cinnamon Melts . . . Chicken Selects . . . Mighty Wings . . . the Hula Burger, which was just a slice of grilled pineapple on a bun . . . the McLobster, which you can still get in New England sometimes . . . McSpaghetti . . . and the McHotDog from the late-'90s.

There's Actually a Recipe for the "Grey Stuff" from "Beauty and the Beast"

In the song "Be Our Guest" in "Beauty and the Beast", Lumiere sings, "Try the Grey Stuff, it's delicious / Don't believe me? Ask the dishes."

And Belle does indeed take a finger swipe of the Grey Stuff and sample it, and yes, she appears to find it delicious.

But what IS the "Grey Stuff"???

Turns out you can actually buy it at restaurants in Disney parks. It's kind of like a mousse served on a cookie.

And you don't have to travel to Florida or California to try it, because the recipe is available at the Disney Parks website.
