Jack White Proposes & Marries Girlfriend At Concert
No matter what else, no one can say that Jack White draws out an engagement. While performing in Detroit Friday night, White called his girlfriend Olivia Jean onto the stage for a duet on “Hotel Yorba.”
White then took out a ring, popped the question, Olivia said yes, and then Jack asked the crowd “It’s been such a great day, mind if we get married right now?” Jack’s parents came out with an officiant, the two were married, and then the concert continued.
One highlight: the officiant began the on-stage ceremony by saying “We are gathered here today to celebrate the thing called…life.” It’s the third marriage for White.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Replace Foo Fighters At Jazz Fest
The Foo Fighters dropped out of the 2022 Jazz Fest lineup and canceled all other performances this spring and summer following the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, which left a hole in the Jazz Fest lineup.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers had no plans to play any shows in May, kicking off their European tour on June 4th, but the band has agreed to fill the Foo Fighter’s slot at this year’s event. They’ll play a 90-minute set starting at 5:30 pm on the main Festival Stage.
The Chili Peppers played Jazz Fest in 2016, and before that, they played the Saenger Theatre in 1989; after fans ripped up seat cushions and Flea cracked the console of the theater’s vintage pipe organ, police cut that concert short.
It’s not the first time Jazz Fest has had to replace a major act. The Rolling Stones canceled in 2019, and the fest booked Fleetwood Mac to replace them.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Land Second Number One Album
Red Hot Chili Peppers have a new number one. The band’s latest release, “Unlimited Love,” tops the “Billboard” 200 Album chart, moving 97,500 equivalent album units.
The album is the band’s second number one record following 2006’s “Stadium Arcadium.”
Taking over the number one spot from Machine Gun Kelly’s “Mainstream Sellout,” this marks the first time in over four years that there have been back-to-back rock albums in the top spot. The last time was in 2017 when The Killers’ “Wonderful Wonderful” was number one, followed by Foo Fighters’ “Concrete and Gold.”
- Elsewhere on the chart, Lil Durk’s “7220” at two, followed by the “Encanto” soundtrack at three, Morgan Wallen’s “Dangerous: The Double Album” at four, and Olivia Rodrigo’s “SOUR” at five.
- Rounding out the Top 10 are The Weeknd’s “The Highlights” at six, Yeat’s “Alive” at seven, Drake’s “Certified Lover Boy” at eight, Machine Gun Kelly’s “Mainstream Sellout” at nine, and Doja Cat's “Planet Her’s” at 10.
