Grammy Highlights… No One Got Slapped. Taylor Tribute

The Grammys went down last night, and not a single person got slapped. There were a couple of references to that Oscar mayhem, though.

Host TREVOR NOAH opened the show by saying, quote, "We're gonna be listening to some music, we're gonna be dancing, were gonna be singing, we're gonna be keeping people's names out of our mouths . . ."

QUESTLOVE also brought it up. Remember, Quest was the guy receiving the award that CHRIS ROCK gave out when he got slapped.

Well, he was a presenter last night, and he said, quote, "Alright, I'm gonna present this award and I trust that you people will stay 500 feet away from me."

Ukrainian president VOLODYMYR ZELENSKY didn't appear at the Oscars, but he DID send a video message to the Grammys. His speech was followed by JOHN LEGEND singing "Free" with some Ukrainian artists.

(Someone posted the Zelensky video. Hopefully, it doesn't get taken down.)

The FOO FIGHTERS picked up Grammys for Best Rock Performance, Best Rock Album, and Best Rock Song.

Grammy Awards Tribute to Taylor Hawkins (2022)

Rod says this was the moment of the night!!!

Billie Eilish performed her song ‘Happier Than Ever” while standing in an upside-down house with water at her feet. She then joined her brother Finneas on the roof and got rained on (although she remained dry). Her performance included a tribute to the late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, with Billie wearing a shirt with his image on it.

As for the other awards themselves, JON BATISTE won Album of the Year for "We Are" . . . and SILK SONIC won Song of the Year AND Record of the Year for "Leave the Door Open".

OLIVIA RODRIGO had a big night. She won Best New Artist . . . "Sour" won Best Pop Vocal Album, and "drivers license" won Best Pop Solo Performance.

KANYE may have been disinvited, but he still picked up the award for Best Melodic Rap Performance for "Hurricane". He was also one of the many songwriters for the Best Rap Song winner, "Jail", his song with Jay-Z.

And CARRIE UNDERWOOD won a Grammy for her GOSPEL album

LOUIS C.K. even got a Grammy . . . for Best Comedy Album, of course.

DOJA CAT got the biggest laugh of the night when she and SZA won Best Pop Duo Performance for "Kiss Me More".

Doja actually had to motor up to the stage from the BATHROOM, and she told the crowd, quote, "I have never taken such a fast piss in my whole life."
