Former UFC champion Cain Velasquez was arrested Monday for ATTEMPTED MURDER.

Velasquez reportedly shot and injured a man in South San Jose, California. And sources say he opened fire because a relative of his was allegedly molested at home daycare.

Here's the deal: 43-year-old Harry Eugene Goularte was arrested Friday on charges that he molested the child at a daycare run by his mother. He was granted a supervised release, even though prosecutors opposed it.

On Monday afternoon, Velasquez allegedly opened fire at a car containing Goularte, his stepfather, and at least one other person. The stepfather was hit at least once, but he's expected to survive.

Since the alleged molestation victim is a minor, his or her identity and relationship to Velasquez has not been revealed.

Velasquez retired from MMA in 2019.
