Two-Thirds of Us Will Eat Chocolate on Valentine's Day . . . Here's the Most Popular Candy in Each State

If you don't sufficiently gorge yourself on Super Bowl Sunday, don't worry. There are plenty of empty calories to be had on Monday too . . .

Two-thirds of Americans will eat chocolate on Valentine's Day this year. Over half of us will eat three pieces or more, and 90% will keep snacking on their candy well into next week.

The poll also found cupcakes, gummy bears, and candy hearts are three of the most popular treats to eat on Valentine's Day. But what about NAME BRAND candy?

Someone looked at the most popular candies in all 50 states, and M&M's took the top spot overall. They're #1 in 20 states, followed by Skittles in 17.

Kit Kats are third with five: Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Vermont.

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups got three: Delaware, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island.

Snickers took the top spot in two states: Idaho and South Dakota.

And Nevada is the only state where Starburst are the most popular candy. (Here's a map. You can check the top five in 48 out of 50 states here. For some reason, they didn't include Alaska or Hawaii.)
