Is "Playboy" and Hugh Hefner's Legacy Getting The Canceled Treatment?

"Playboy" has been getting some bad press lately, thanks to an unflattering re-assessment of Hugh Hefner and his empire, which was apparently a lot sleazier and misogynistic than we were led to believe.

There's even a new show about it called "Secrets of Playboy", premiering Monday on A&E, where the women reveal what REALLY went on.

So, what is "Playboy's" response? We hardly know that guy. (???) Yesterday, they released this statement:

"Today's Playboy is not Hugh Hefner's Playboy. We trust and validate these women and their stories and we strongly support those individuals who have come forward to share their experiences.

"As a brand with sex-positivity at its core, we believe safety, security, and accountability are paramount. The most important thing we can do right now is actively listening and learn from their experiences.

They added, quote, "We will never be afraid to confront the parts of our legacy as a company that does not reflect our values today."
