Music: Bands Like Metallica & Tool Are Using Dogs to Sniff Out Coronavirus

Bands Like Metallica and Tool Are Now Using Dogs to Sniff Out Coronavirus

The latest concert must-have: Covid-sniffing canines. Bands like METALLICA, TOOL, and THE BLACK KEYS have used dogs to find traces of the virus in members of their crew, entourage, and anyone else who goes backstage.

Metallica's management company said, quote, "So far, knock on wood, the dogs have been knocking it out of the park . . . We haven't had a dog miss anybody."

There are currently 12 dogs trained and working through Bio-Detection K9, with more being trained. They sniff people's hands and feet, and now with the new variant, they'll be sniffing masks.

The company says not only are they faster and cheaper than a regular test, but they're friendlier. A dog test costs around $2 a person.

The only downside for the bands, is they can't get too close to the dogs, because it'll throw the dogs off their game.

Jack White Premieres Vid & Gives Details About Tour/Album

Jack White announced two new solo albums “Fear of the Dawn” and “Entering Heaven Alive,” set to drop on April 8 and July 22, respectively. He hasn't talked much about the albums until now. He's released a self-directed live video for his single, "Taking Me Back," the song he debuted on his "SNL" performance back in October.

White shares that dropping the video was actually them wanting "to kill a few birds with one stone. People keep asking who’s going to be in the band,” he said, saying that it's “good to let people see who it is is, and as rehearsals start for the tour, to film and record something to see how it’s sounding — let’s do all that at once.” He also shared he'll be releasing another single next week from “Fear of the Dawn."

White announced a 2022 tour and now he's giving us more info. “It’s a quartet. So it’s going to be really cool because we can do really hard-hitting stuff, and then also really gentle, acoustic numbers or even whole sets with this crew. And they’re just such improvisational musicians." He also shared that "not much is off-limits" explaining that means anything he was the main singer or main songwriter for is fair game. “I think we ended up having over 80 the last time I went on the road… I haven’t used a setlist in 20 years," he said.

Muse Announce New Single

Muse has announced a new single, "Won’t Stand Down," by sharing a teaser on social media. The song will be released next Thursday, January 13. But, frontman Matt Bellamy already leaked out part of the song during an Insta live over the holidays where he was playing the song on his car radio.

The artwork they shared for the song is pretty dark, with a priest-like hooded figure, wearing a mask, lurking in the shadows. This is the first teaser we have for the band's follow-up album to 2018’s "Simulation Theory." Muse included a link in their Tweet where fans can pre-save the song to their streaming service.
