Toni Cornell: Nothing Compares 2 U The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon

Brother Rod,

Stayed up a little late watching Fallon and he said Toni Cornell was the musical guest covering his late dad’s “nothing compares 2 U” so obviously had to watch it. She did a great job. I’m sure it's on YouTube by now. No idea if you had covered it in today’s show (Thursday) or not. Looking forward to tomorrow’s show and see what ya’ll got each other for Christmas gifts. Go, Coach! Merry Christmas and a happy new year to all of you. Stay safe.

Corey Taylor Calls Alice In Chains One Of The Greatest Rock Bands

During a recent Q&A with his fans, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor sang the praises of Alice in Chains. He even called them "one of the greatest rock bands" of all time. One of the questions Corey got was to name his favorite of the "Big Four" Seattle grunge bands, i.e. Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam. He was very quick to share his answer.

Corey said, “Alice in Chains, to me, is one of the greatest rock bands that ever was. And I don’t just mean that from a grunge standpoint or metal or anything like that. They revolutionized so much musically and they inspired me to change the way I write music.” He also went on to call Layne Staley "still one of the greatest f*king singers that ever lived."

He shared that some of his favorite songs are "Nutshell" and "Would?" because of how emotionally stirring they are and that Staley, "just made it look so f**king easy, and he could sing anything, he could write anything, and the s*** that he was writing about was killing him, and yet we loved it." Corey also shared that he listens to Alice in Chains every day and is so pumped that he now knows them and gets to hang out with them.
