Here Are The 10 Worst Cities for Package Theft

Great News… Houston NOT in the Top 10!

With all the shipping and supply chain issues, it may feel like a victory to get a package to show up at your door when you expect it. But even then, you're not out of the woods . . . because of PORCH PIRATES.

Today is National Package Protection Day, which IS an actual thing.

Porch pirates can show up anywhere, and around 210 million packages have disappeared from porches across America over the last 12 months.

In fact, 64.1% of Americans say they've had a package stolen in the past year.

The website Safewise.com has a list of the WORST cities for package theft this year. Denver is #1, followed by San Francisco, which ranked #1 in each of the past three years.

Salt Lake City is #3, followed by Seattle . . . San Antonio, Texas . . . Austin, Texas . . . Portland, Oregon . . . Greenville, South Carolina . . . Raleigh, North Carolina . . . and Hartford, Connecticut.

Package theft stats for 2021

  • Over 54% of Americans plan to shop online more than they did the previous year (based on our survey of 1,000 American adults). That's 20% lower than last year.
  • 39% of respondents say they have packages delivered several times a week (up 12 points from last year).
  • 72% of Americans say the COVID-19 pandemic has made them more concerned about porch piracy (up 9 points from last year).
