Here's Why Will Ferrell Hasn't Spoken to His "Anchorman" Production Partner

Here's Why Will Ferrell Hasn't Spoken to His "Anchorman" Production Partner Since 2019

WILL FERRELL and writer-director-producer ADAM MCKAY were longtime partners in Gary Sanchez Productions, and they spent years making COMEDY GOLD.

The website Funny Or Die. . . that's theirs. They also collaborated on the"Anchorman" movies, "Talladega Nights", "Step Brothers", "Daddy's Home", "Get Hard", and"The Campaign".

Plus, "Holmes and Watson" and "Land of the Lost". Hey, they can't all be gems.

But they haven't spoken since 2019 . . . and McKay has finally revealed why. He's doing an HBO drama about the 1980s L.A. Lakers . . . and Will wanted to play owner JERRY BUSS. But McKay gave the part to their mutual friend JOHN C. REILLY.

He says, quote, "I should have called [Will] and I didn't. And Reilly did, of course, because Reilly, he's a stand-up guy.

The last time they spoke was when they decided to end their partnership. Quote, "[Will] basically was like, 'Have a good life.' And I'm like, '[Eff], Ferrell's never going to talk to me again.' So it ended not well."
