A panel of music pros have selected the top 22 contenders to be the opening act at Buzzfest presented by Bud Light!
You can vote once a day, and the winning band will handle the opening set on the main stage, Sept. 4 at The Woodlands Pavilion!

307 Departure is an alternative rock band from the Houston area, playing shows as the 4 piece since January of 2020. Being familiar with the local Houston music scene, 307 have performed White Oak Music Hall, Acadia bar & grill, 19th hole, and Firehouse saloon (RIP), along with many other fan favorite venues of the Houston area. The band consists of: Kellen Moore, Grayson Moore, Ben Wozniak, and Jake Bednarsky. The Moore boys are from Casper, Wyoming, Ben is from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Jake gets to keep his home crowd of Houston, Texas. 307 is a new taste of what rock music can really make people think and feel, with energy and stage presence as well as amazing music.
We are Add1ction, a rap/rock band from Houston, TX. We've been a band for 6 years, our music is available in every streaming service. We bring the energy when we play live! We would love to be a part of this!
ARAMITE is an original Hard rock/metal band originating out of Houston TX Starting off in 2011 , ARAMITE were the two time winners of the Gorilla Music Battle of the Bands Competition and since has performed with national acts: Misfits, Buckcherry, Drowning Pool, Kill Devil Hill (featuring Rex Brown of Pantera and Vinny Appice of Dio), Parabelle (featuring Kevin Matisyn of Evans Blue, Red Lamb (featuring Dan Spitz of Anthrax), and had a scheduled show with Scott Weiland of Stone temple pilots and Velvet Revolver. ARAMITE has performed on the main stages of House Of Blues, Warehouse Live, White Oak Music hall; SXSW in Austin Texas.

Blurred In10tions is an up-and-coming alternative/indie rock band from Houston, TX. Founded by singer-songwriter Gavin Sasser in 2020, he wrote and recorded a collection of songs for the band he envisioned. The line-up formed together over the course of the last year, and during that time, they put out two singles (Can't Explain; Clothes) and played alongside some well-known Houston locals like Hold On Hollywood & more. Blurred In10tions is a young band with passion and drive, the desire to go the distance, and radio-ready, catchy, pop-infused modern rock songs anyone could love and sing along to. They have the look, the sound, the attitude and heart. All that's left now is the audience - they just need you.
Castaway Radio is based out of Pearland, TX. Brothers Austin and Holden Rominger are the last of the original members since 2010 with multiple members and contributors along the way until Clay DeMarco joined in 2017. Castaway Radio has been playing the Houston music scene since the beginning gaining bigger audiences along the way. Having played their first festival in NC alongside bands like Atlanta Rhythm Section, Pure Prairie League, and Whey Jennings, they're hoping to keep the ball rolling - playing and meeting with the very artists that have impacted their own music along the way. They bring a polished, high-energy, riff-driven performance that creates an instant crowd connection and gets people moving.
Cymblem is a four piece rock band hailing from just outside Houston, Texas. We have been rocking out together for over 15 years and have gone through a lot in that time from tragedy like when all our equipment was destroyed during a hurricane to such great achievements like opening for Puddle Of Mud, Saliva, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Smile Empty Soul, Saving Abel and Egypt Central. We are a very energetic band who love to get the crowd up and enjoying themselves. It is one of the bands dream to be able to play at BuzzFest and would be a huge achievement and boost for us. We are a rock band from Houston that is amassing a worldwide following through our YouTube. We should be picked cause we will rock harder than any other band, and have been emailing Rod back and forth for a few years now trying to be heard. Give us a shot, you won't be disappointed.
In the 14 years we have been performing together, no radio station has been more supportive than 94.5 The Buzz. Back in the Texas Buzz days, AD (and many others) helped us refine our songwriting and stage show, which primed our musical careers, entertaining our beloved Texan fans year after year. Paired with sick Lead Guitarist Adam Alvarado and Robert Cavazos on Rhythm/Keys. We've spent years playing live in Houston. Opening for bands like, Drowning Pool,Saliva,Avatar,Sons Of Texas,THC and many more! Eucalption is a rock band composed of the two Houston raised brothers James Nissen (age 27) and Ben Nissen (age 22). They released their debut single Distractions in 2018, which was featured on The Buzz on the show Do You Hate It? after being voted on by the people in the Houston area. Ben plays bass and guitar, while James plays drums, percussion, and synthesizers. Their debut full-length album Go Ahead And Ignore This If You Want was released in the fall of 2020, and has received great reviews through many online magazines and blogs.
Born and bred in Houston TX, Gamma Dog is a four-piece indie psych rock outfit that are currently churning the underbelly of the local and regional rock scene. The band is currently hard at work on their full-length record and have released a handful of singles leading up to album launch set for late 2021.

Kenton Place is a 5-piece band of 21 year old misfits From Katy. Pursuing a higher education, following our passions and music. Laurel is a Kennedy center award winning performer. Curtis is an Oberlin Conservatory double bass major! Logan is pursuing a P.F.P. degree at TTU, number one in the country. Roque is pursuing a degree in Law while Noe the O.G. member does graphics at UH. We have been the Texas buzz feature 3 times this year & recorded our debut album with Grammy award winning team Producer Ulrich Wild and engineer Ted Jensen, coming out this year. Buzzfest will be the day we release the first single, Roses on the wall!
We are Key Flight Captains from Houston, TX. Corey(drums) and I Ryno(vocalist,guitarist) have been a band for 6 and a half years with our bassist Rob-O joining August of last year. Some of our influences include Foo Fighters, Soundgarden, Hoobastank, Stone Temple Pilots, Incubus, Alien Ant Farm and Nirvana. We think we deserve a shot to open Buzzfest because we are ambitious young musicians who want nothing more in life than to play and make music. Opening Buzzfest would be a dream come true for us as we have been listening to the Buzz for most of our lives.
Lucid Illusions is a 3-piece bluesy-alt rock band from Houston, TX formed in 2017. The band consists of Jordan Lane (guitar/vocals), Donovan Hanson (drums), and Conner Graham (bass). In May 2019, the band released their self titled debut album and they're now recording their second record. In addition, the band is actively working on a project called 365 Days of Covers. They've posted a new cover on YouTube every day since January 1st of 2021. Lucid Illusions is known for their attention-grabbing, crowd-engaging live performances as well as their various playing styles that they incorporate into their originals. The band is beyond dedicated to their craft and ready to take their music to the next level!
Mirror Lake is Hard Rock band From Houston, TX that formed in the summer of 2017. We take an arrangement of powerful vocals, and blend it with heavy melodic instrumentals to create an emotional and unique sound. Growing up in North Houston and attending Buzzfest at the pavilion time and time again makes this opportunity that much more special and that much more exciting. We feel we can genuinely offer a hard hitting and entertaining experience, that fits the vibe of the already incredible lineup. Since our vocalist was a small girl she wanted to play both this stage and this festival. We are hoping today is the day we make this come full circle.
Sleep Juliet has been a band for nearly a decade. We are a female fronted modern rock act in the style of Breaking Benjamin and Halestorm. We've played intimate club shows with bands like Nonpoint, Hold on Hollywood, and Bobaflex where we set the atmosphere for the party as well as huge stages like Six Flags where we brought the exact same energy, show after show.

The band has been around for more than 6 years. We have one of the largest followings in the greater Houston area. We consistently plays all of the larger venues. (Warehouse live, house of blues, rise rooftop, etc). We have also played with some of the biggest names in the rock world. We are looking to take that next step and show that Houston still has good original hard rock music. Our look, stage presence, and attitude are unmatched. Our debut EP,Mythology will come out January 2022. Pick us to be the opening band and let's give the fans a show!
