September Video Raises More Than $230K In Under 24 Hours

Comedian and comedy writer Demi Adeguyigbe (The Good Place, The Late Late Show) has made an annual tradition of creating fun (and increasingly elaborate) videos of himself dancing to Earth, Wind and Fire's "September" for September 21st. As the videos have gotten more and more popular on Twitter and YouTube over the years, Adeguyigbe has added a charity fundraiser element, selling t-shits and collecting donations for a selection of non-profits.

He set this year's video up to be his last, looking to wrap it up after five years, unless he could raise $50,000 in donations. Yesterday fans of the annual videos blew that goal out of the water, hitting the $50,000 mark in the first three hours. As of this writing, the September 21st! A Charity Fundraiser campaign has raised more than $230,000 for Street Watch LA, Trans United Fund, BlackRoots Alliance, National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum, and SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition.

You can watch five years worth of September 21st videos below.
