The City Of Houston To Honor 2020 Grads In Citywide Celebration Friday, 6/5

The Class of 2020 has missed out on a lot thanks to the coronavirus pandemic, but and the city of Houston and area school districts are teaming up to give graduating seniors the celebration they deserve.

High school seniors will gather outside of their campuses in their caps and gowns at 6:30 p.m., this Friday, June 5th. Each school district will host their own personalized campus events along with a virtual tribute featuring Mayor Sylvester Turner and a roster of celebrity guests recognizing the achievements of this year’s graduates. The video tribute will be broadcast and streamed by various Houston television, radio, and newspaper platforms. THE BUZZ will be streaming it here on Facebook.

The guest list will include Houston Texan J.J. Watt, Houston Rocket James Harden, Houston Astro Carlos Correa, rappers 50 Cent and Slim Thug, Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, astronaut Chris Cassidy, actress Chandra Wilson, fashion designer Chloe Dao, and MasterChef winner Christine Ha!
