Rosario Dawson Joins 'The Mandalorian' Season 2 As Clone Wars Hero Ahsoka

According to SlashFilm, Rosario Dawson will appear in The Mandalorian season 2. The site broke the story earlier that she will be playing a fan-favorite character previously only seen in the Star Wars animated shows. Dawson will be playing a live-action version of Ahsoka Tano, who has been a major character in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars: Rebels. The character will be making her live-action debut.

Dave Filoni, who co-created Ahsoka back in 2008, is a writer, producer, and director on The Mandalorian. He made his live-action directing debut on the first season of The Mandalorian and will be back for season 2. SlashFilm has confirmed this Dawson casting with two independent sources, but hasn't been able to get a statement from Lucasfilm or Filoni.

Rosario Dawson in this role has been high on fan-casting wish lists for years. In 2017, a fan tweeted at Dawson, asking her to appear in a Star Wars movie as Ahsoka, and the actress responded, “Ummmm… yes, please?! #AhsokaLives”.

The character is currently appearing in season 7 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Disney+.
