School Turning Unused Food Into Take-Home Meals For Students

An elementary school in Indiana teamed up with a non-profit called Cultivate to send kids home with food for the weekend.

Students at Woodland Elementary in Elkhart usually get breakfast and lunch at school. But when they're home on the weekends, they may not have access to food.
...20 students are in the pilot food program. Those students receive a backpack every Friday with eight individual frozen meals. (KXAN)

This sounds like an amazing program. Both hunger and food waste are big problems in the US, and it's great that people are working to do something about both.
