Black Keys Reveal Major Collabs On Upcoming Album

Prepare yourselves, Black Keys fans. The band is promising their next album will be a big one. Drummer Patrick Carney has revealed the duo’s follow-up to 2011’s “Dropout Boogie” will feature a number of high-profile collaborations.

“We started writing with (Beck),” confessed the rocker. “And that was the beginning of what we’re finishing now, an epic album that’s our best record for sure.” Carney, who pairs with Dan Auerbach to form the Black Keys, called Beck “the lynchpin in the new evolution” of the band.

In addition to their new writing partner, the Keys have also promised a number of guests will appear on the new album. Carney admits former Oasis singer Noel Gallagher worked on the LP. “We’re working with a lot of people, and the vibe of the record is fun,” continued Carney. There are no further details yet from the Black Keys, but the new LP is expected next year.

NME reports that Zwan’s “Mary Star Of The Sea,” which turned 20 this year, is getting a box set release. And it’s not just a re-master, either. “I’m working on the box set now,” Corgan admitted, before adding: “I think there’s 65 unreleased songs.” “I personally think the best Zwan music didn’t get released,” confessed the rocker.
