Russell Stover Made a Record-Breaking 8,000-Pound Box of Chocolates

Finally, a box of chocolates I can't tear through in a single day:  Russell Stover just broke a world record with a box of chocolates that weighs EIGHT THOUSAND POUNDS.

It looks like their normal boxes you might buy around the holidays, but much bigger.  The box itself is 30 feet wide, and weighs 2,300 pounds.  And it's filled with 5,616 pounds of chocolate.  So, roughly 8,000 pounds total.

They didn't just dump a bunch of normal chocolates in there.  They're all oversized and weigh between 11 pounds and 38 pounds each.

They did it to mark the company's 100th anniversary, and unveiled it in Kansas City this week.  They're planning to put the box on display at one of their retail locations, and all of the chocolate will be donated.

They're partnering with Feed the Children and giving it away this fall.  Some of it will also be raffled off to raise money.

According to Guinness, the old record was a box with just over 3,700 pounds of chocolate.  A candy company in the U.K. made it in 2008.
