Mike Shinoda Says Linkin Park Wasn't Interested in Nu-Metal "Tough-Guy [Stuff]" 

 

 

Linkin Park will always carry the Nu-Metal tag . . . but Mike Shinoda thinks they were different than their peers.

 

 

Quote, "We were more introspective.  What we didn't like about what was going on in the scene was that it was very frat rock.  It was toxic masculinity.

 

 

"We didn't know the term yet.  We just didn't like how everything was about tough-guy [stuff], and we didn't identify with tough-guy [stuff].  So nobody wanted to sign us because we didn't fit.  They couldn't see us onstage."

Greta Van Fleet Teases New Track "Starcatcher"

Michigan-based rock band Great Van Fleet has been super busy lately teasing fans on social media. And now their campaign has gotten a little more specific, cluing fans to new music on the horizon.

On Monday, GVF released a video of black sand backed by a new vocal track. The included link takes fans to their website, which announces a new track- “Starcatcher”- is now available for pre-sale.

The band has been guarded about their plans since their last album, “The Battle At Garden’s Gate.” GVF did confirm, however, that they were finished recording on a new album at Metallica’s “Helping Hands” concert. Check out the “Starcatcher” teaser on the right.

Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, Lady A, and More Are Doing a Benefit Concert for the Nashville School Shooting

 

 

A bunch of big country artists is doing a benefit concert in Nashville next week to raise money for The Covenant School, where that terrible shooting happened last week. Carrie UnderwoodThomas RhettLady A, and other artists have signed it.

 

The school will receive all of the proceeds from it.  Tickets go on sale today.
