Music: The Cure Canceled 7,000 Scalped Tickets to their Upcoming Tour.

The Cure Canceled 7,000 Scalped Tickets to their Upcoming Tour.

Robert Smith is REALLY trying to return FAIRNESS to the process of buying concert tickets.

Over the weekend, he announced that 7,000 scalped tickets to the upcoming Cure tour had been canceled . . . and he plans to resell them and donate the original fees to Amnesty International.

The Cure had previously opted out of Ticketmaster's "platinum" and "dynamically priced" ticket options . . . which have been responsible for grossly inflating ticket prices on other tours.

He also got Ticketmaster to issue REFUNDS to some buyers to compensate for higher fees.

Bring Me The Horizon Debuts Online Series, Promises New Music.

Bring Me The Horizon debuted a new YouTube series over the weekend. The Oli Sykes-led band launched “BMTHS5: Post Human EU,” which follows the band on their recent tour of Europe. Horizon even brought in special guest Rammstein to the premiere episode, sharing a bottle of the German band’s tequila brand.

But that wasn’t all Horizon had in store. The band shared clips of them working on new music. Last year, Sykes confessed in an interview that “We are chipping away at (new music), but I also think we feel as though the bar has been set so high for us… We have this pretty incredible (live) set now, and any song we write now has to be good enough to justify its place on the setlist.”

There’s been no word on when fans can expect new songs from Bring Me The Horizon yet, but fans in the US can expect the band to travel here later this year.

Storm Causes Roof Collapse At Morbid Angel Concert; 1 Dead, 40 Injured.

This past Friday night brought tragedy to the rock world after a structural collapse at an Illinois show. Brazilian death metal band Crypta had just finished their opening set for Morbid Angel when a storm caused the roof of the Apollo Theatre in Belvedere to collapse.

One fan, Fred Livingston Jr, has been confirmed dead as a result of the incident, while many others are said to have been injured. Morbid Angel took to social media to send their condolences. “We lost a brother in Metal last night,” wrote the band, “and many were hurt and injured in this tragedy. “We truly hope for a fast recovery of all who were injured.”

Morbid Angel thanked those who aided in the evacuation and recovery efforts following the roof collapse and announced they would be postponing their next performance in Joliet, Illinois.
