A Woman Set Her Apartment Building on Fire Trying to "Burn Away Negative Energy"

If you're feeling negative energy at home, you might open up some windows . . . add some plants . . . or just take a relaxing bath.

There's a 37-year-old woman in Utah named Crystal Moss who took a more aggressive approach. She was arrested over the weekend, after setting a fire in her apartment building that spread and completely burned six units. Thankfully, no one was seriously hurt.

She told police she "intentionally used a Bic lighter to ignite a tree of life, which was placed inside a cauldron near her bedroom closet." It was taking a while, so she also poured a bottle of alcohol on it to speed up the process.

She said she was trying "to burn away the negative energy, sadness, and pain in her life."

She was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on arson charges . . . likely bringing a new level of negative energy, sadness, and pain into her life.

Cops Busted an Old Man for Handing Out Candy to Kids, but He Was Participating in "Random Acts of Kindness Day"

The world's a scary place when you have kids, so this story caught our attention . . .

Cops in a small Canadian town called Hanover picked up a, quote, "suspicious older male" last week for trying to hand out candy to kids.  (Hanover is about 100 miles northwest of Toronto.)

He pulled over in his car last Wednesday, went up to a young boy walking home from school, and offered him a box of chocolates.

Kids today are smart about this stuff, and the boy said no. But the guy was insistent. He said if he didn't want them, maybe his mom would.

Cops eventually tracked him down and questioned him. But they DIDN'T arrest him, and here's why: It turned out he was just trying to participate in RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS DAY.

The holiday was back on February 17th, but he heard about it, and it inspired him. He'd also been handing out candy to adults that day, and they released him after determining his intentions were, quote, "genuine and pure."
