Women's Underwear Is Taxed More Than Men's Underwear?

Some experts say you should refresh your underwear collection every six months.

Others say you can keep your boxers from college as long as they're being regularly washed and aren't falling apart.

But when you DO buy new undies, WOMEN will pay more than MEN . . . at least as far as taxes go.

A new report shows that the U.S. charges different tariff rates on underwear imports. The average tariff rate on women's undergarments is 15.5%, compared to just 11.5% for men's.

It doesn't have to do with the MATERIAL . . . there are at least three different underwear categories, and the tariffs on female products are more in each case. One expert says it's just gender bias in the system and that most other countries have a flat rate for all underwear . . . so the U.S. system is unusual.

So how does that affect you? On average, the import tariff adds about $1.10 to the cost of each women's underwear item . . . but just 75 cents to men's.
