Stephen Root Signs Boxes of Staplers On Movie Sets Because of Office Space

When you hear of the actor STEPHEN ROOT, what role comes to mind (if any)? If you said Milton Waddams from "Office Space", well, you're definitely not alone. That's kind of what everybody remembers him from.

During an appearance on "The Rich Eisen Show", Stephen said, quote, "There isn't a set that I don't go onto that doesn't have a box of staplers for me to sign for the crew. It doesn't matter what I have done in my career; whenever someone stops me in the street, it's 'Office Space'."

If you've never watched the movie, Stephen's character Milton is a shy office employee who gets taken advantage of and is known for his red stapler. He even threatens to set the building on fire if someone were to steal it . . . which happens at the end.

Other roles he COULD get recognized for are: the voices of Hank Hill's neighbor Bill and Hank's boss Buck on "King of the Hill" . . . Gordon in "Dodgeball" . . . and Monroe in all seasons of "Barry"(Season 3 of "Barry" premiered last night on HBO.)
