As technology evolves, we’re hearing more talk about “sex robots.” Realistically, they don’t even exist – even though there are some amazing and sophisticated sex dolls out there now. With the developing tech, “sex robots” are an inevitability, and that’s led some doomsayers to see them as the gateway to the end of human contact and relationships. Neil MacArthur is an ethics expert and says that reaction is just crying wolf about a non-existent problem. He points out that, when they become a reality, they’re not going to be forced on anyone, and will be a “consumer product.” Plus, they’ll likely be first adopted by people who really need them because they can’t form human relationships for whatever mental or physical reasons. He adds that “just because a sex robot isn’t good for everyone, doesn’t mean it’s not good for someone.”
