Food: Drinking Any Amount of Alcohol Is Bad for You… Even Wine!

Drinking Any Amount of Alcohol Is Bad for You… Even Wine!

Can alcohol actually be GOOD for you in small amounts? It seems like the answer to these flip-flops every other year. But this supposedly puts an end to it.

An extensive new study at Harvard and M.I.T. found the answer is . . . NO. Drinking ANY amount of alcohol is bad for you, specifically your heart and cardiovascular system. That even includes the occasional glass of wine.

So why have other studies found moderate drinking can be good? They say it's because people who drink in moderation are more likely to have other HEALTHY habits, even more so than people who don't drink at all. They eat more vegetables, get more exercise, and are less likely to smoke.

They looked at the medical records of over 370,000 adults. And when you control for those habits, there's no evidence alcohol has any health benefits.

Chipotle Brings Back ‘Guac Mode’

Chipotle has just announced the relaunch of Guac Mode, an exclusive benefit for their Chipotle Rewards members. Unfamiliar? There are surprise free guac rewards – and this time, they’re back for the rest of the year. All to celebrate the three-year anniversary of the rewards program.

What that means is from now until March 31st, existing Chipotle Rewards members who aren’t Guac Mode verified can join by going to chipotle.com/guacmodeverified to become eligible – and so can the newcomers. When Chipotle activates the account, Rewards members will have an extra reward in their My Rewards section.

  • But there’s also a promotion with Cash App to launch the $GuacMode Giveaway for $100-thousand in cash drops on Twitter. Chipotle will issue tweets that encourage fans to sign up for Guac Mode, follow @ChipotleTweets and @CashApp to win some free cash by dropping their $cashtag with #ChipotleGuacMode in response to the tweets. Cash App is a free download in the Apple App Store or Google Play.
  • ONE MORE THING! Chipotle’s Rewards members earn 10 points for every $1 spent in the restaurant, online or in the app and with Chipotle Rewards Exchange points can be exchanged for options including free guac, double protein, beverages, Chipotle Goods or cash donations to support Chipotle non-profit partners.

Denny’s Extends “Endless Breakfast” Promotion

If your wallet is a little emptier than usual, Denny’s says they want to help…with their Endless Breakfast promotion. For those who don’t know, it was first introduced as a test prior to the pandemic.

But from now until June 21st, plopping down $6.99 (or $8.99 in some states) will get you “endless” buttermilk pancakes, cheesy scrambled eggs, and hash browns. “As Americans are being impacted by a unique mix of current events,” says Denny’s Chief Brand Officer John Dillon. “And gas, rent, and costs for supermarket staples like eggs, milk, and cheese continue to increase. Denny’s is proud to bring our guests Endless Breakfast at a time when we know each dollar matters.”

A couple of notes, though – if you wanna upgrade to bacon or sausage, it’ll cost an extra $.99 (or $1.49 in some states) and the promotion is for dine-in only.
