Weezer's Rivers Cuomo Builds His Own Streaming Platform

Weezer frontman Rivers Cuomo is debuting a streaming platform that will house thousands of Weezer demos that were originally released in 2020 as part of his "web programming class." The demos range from his pre-Weezer musical ventures up through 2017's "Pacific Daydream." Cuomo has built this app, "Weezify" to play these demos. The app is on Google Play and the Apple Store.

The description reads,“A Spotify-like player for all of Rivers Cuomo’s demos (1975 – 2017). Close to 3,500 demos. Follow curated playlists. Create playlists of your favorites. I made this app myself. It took me all of 2021 to make. I hope you enjoy it.”

Cuomo tweeted the app, writing, "Tired of Spotify? Come on over to Weezify." This is a timely tweet, as it comes as multiple artists, such as Neil Young, are calling for their music to be removed from Spotify due to COVID misinformation,

Black Keys Announce North American Tour ***INCLUDE HOUSTON DATE

The Black Keys are going on tour! The North American 2022 call will be called "Dropout Boogie" and span 32 dates. This is the band's first extensive tour since 2019. Band of Horses will serve as the support at all shows. Ceramic Animal, Early James, and The Velveteers will each open select shows. 

The tour kicks off on July 9 at Vegas's "MGM Grand Garden Arena" and ends in October in Dallas, TX. The band will take a few weeks off in the middle.

General public tickets go on sale this Friday, February 4 at 10 AM local time. Fans who are part of The Black Key's free "Lonely Boys & Girls Club" have access to an exclusive presale that starts today, February 1 at 10 AM local time.
