Haribo Launches Sour Sodas In Time For Halloween

Haribo is a 100-year-old German candy maker best known for their gummies in various shapes including Goldbears and cola bottles, and they have just launched new Sour Sodas in time for Halloween. They’re soda-inspired gummies that are available in Cherry-Cola, Lemon- Strawberry, and Peach-Blue Raspberry, and have a sour kick with a light, crunchy coating.

Haribo is headed to Houston, voted the “Sourest City in America” (based on sour gummy sales), to roll out the new gummies for an exclusive Halloween debut. There will be a one-of-a-kind pop-up in Houston’s Heights neighborhood where the first 1,000 guests can try the new Sour Sodas. Abigail Bennie, director of brand management at Haribo said “Haribo Sour Sodas give fans exactly what they’ve been asking for: bold sour flavors in exciting combinations that make every bite an experience.”

Fans are excited to try the new gummies with one commenter saying “Haribo Cola bottles are [fire], so I imagine these will only be better!” If the Houston rollout goes well, you can expect to see them on your local store shelves soon.

People Are Having Starbucks Baristas Put Their Drinks Into Carved Pumpkins

If anyone wants to know the difference between the life of INFLUENCERS and the life of NORMAL PEOPLE . . . here's your case study.

There's apparently a trend of people taking carved out mini pumpkins to Starbucks, and having the baristas FILL THEM with the drink they order.

The idea is: Starbucks let's people bring their own mug, so why not "celebrate fall" by using a hollowed-out pumpkin as a mug?

Videos are popping up on social media of people trying this, and the results are MIXED. Some baristas have heard of the trend, and are willing to do it . . . some are even enthusiastic about it, and take photos themselves.

In other videos, the workers had NOT heard of it, and didn't want to do it . . . so they just gave the customer an actual cup, and then the customer pours it into the pumpkin for the photo op, which is less fun.

And some commenters are asking people NOT to do this, because it slows everything down.

It doesn't sound like Starbucks has an official policy. Some workers said that they aren't supposed to touch the pumpkins themselves for food safety reasons . . . but are willing to pour the drink in for you.

In any event, if you want to try this, there's nothing wrong with asking nicely to see if they're cool with it.

There's probably very little TASTE difference . . . it's just something to do if you are willing to buy a pumpkin to use for a social media post.

Grubhub Is Offering College Students "Snooze Insurance" for Sleeping Through Deliveries

If you order a pizza, are you ever worried about missing the delivery because you fell asleep? No? Then you're probably not a college student.

Grubhub says 72% of college students have missed a late-night delivery order sometime in their college career because they've nodded off.  (Or were so drunk that they forgot they ordered it.)

So they're now offering "Snooze Insurance."

If you're a "Grubhub+ Student" member, they're offering a "make-up meal" to replace the one you slept through. It's not a built-in feature, you need to apply for a code over the next few weeks, which provides $15 off a future do-over meal.

It's basically just a marketing gimmick to advertise their Student membership accounts, which are FREE to join . . . if you're enrolled at a participating school.

There are a few other perks: Free or discounted deliveries . . . 5% credit on pickup orders . . . flexible payment options . . . and periodic deals. It's available for students at more than 400 college campuses.
