R.I.P. Diane Keaton

Diane Keaton died on Saturday. She was 79 years old. There's no word yet on the cause of death.

A friend told "People" magazine that Diane's death was unexpected, and that her health declined rapidly in recent months.

Quote, "In her final months, she was surrounded only by her closest family, who chose to keep things very private. Even longtime friends weren't fully aware of what was happening."

Keaton rose to fame in the 1970s, on the strength of the "Godfather" movies and her collaborations with Woody Allen

Those included "Play It Again, Sam""Sleeper""Manhattan", and most notably, "Annie Hall", which netted her a Best Actress Oscar and made her a fashion icon.

Her other films included "Something's Gotta Give""Reds""Father of the Bride""The Family Stone""Looking for Mr. Goodbar", and "The First Wives Club".

Diane also bought and renovated homes, and even wrote a book about it, called "The House that Pinterest Built".

Diane is survived by two adopted children, a son and a daughter. She never married, but she did date Woody, Warren Beatty, and Al Pacino.

Francis Ford Coppola, who directed Diane in the "Godfather" movies, called her "Endlessly intelligent" and "so beautiful."

No word yet from Woody, but a so-called "source" says, quote, "He is extremely distraught and surprised and upset. It makes him think of his own mortality."
