The Best Beach Scenes in Pop Culture History

It's summertime, so that means getting some beach days in.  "Entertainment Weekly" put together a list of the best beach scenes in movies and TV.

 

 

Here are 15:

 

 

1.  "From Here to Eternity" (1953):  Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr's adulterous makeout session on the beach as the waves crash around them.

2.  "Barbie" (2023): There are multiple beach scenes, like Ryan Gosling's Ken challenging Simu Liu's Ken to a "beach off", and Venice Beach in the "real" world.

 

 

3.  "Baywatch" (1989 to 2001): For starters, it's literally a whole SERIES filled with beach scenes. And ladies, how could you watch it without wanting to get a red one-piece swimsuit?

 

 

4.  "Top Gun" (1986): You know this list had to include the sweaty volleyball match between Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer

 

 

5.  "Casino Royale" (2006):  Daniel Craig's 007 walks out of the water in nothing but blue swim trunks.

6.  "Die Another Day" (2002): Bond girl Halle Berry makes her entrance on the beach in an orange bikini.

7.  "Saving Private Ryan" (1998): When Tom Hanks and his soldiers storm Omaha Beach during World War 2.

 

 

8.  "The Karate Kid" (1984):  Ralph Macchio's training sequence, including the crane technique.

 

 

9.  "Hollywood (Part 3)" on "Happy Days" (1977): When Fonzie (Henry Winkler) goes waterskiing and jumps over a shark . . . leather jacket and all.

 

 

10.  "Beach Games" on "The Office" (2007): Michael Scott (Steve Carell) takes the team to a LAKE to compete in "beach games".

11.  "Point Break" (1991): The final scene when Patrick Swayze rides a killer wave.

 

 

12.  "Planet of the Apes" (1968): The remains of the Statue of Liberty are on the beach, revealing that the "foreign planet" was Earth all along.

 

 

13.  "The Notebook" (2004): The "If you're a bird, I'm a bird" moment with Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling.

 

 

14.  "The One with the Jellyfish" on "Friends" (1997):  Courteney Cox gets stung by a jellyfish, so Matthew Perry pees on her.
