The world is full of rich people, but it turns out, a lot of them end up in the same areas. Research shows that global wealth has tripled in two decades, and a lot of it is right here in the U.S. Thanks to the Henley Global Citizens Report, we know which cities are the richest in the world.
- The report includes the most expensive cities in the world, the fastest-growing wealth hubs, and the wealthiest cities overall.
- This year, 11 of the top 50 wealthiest cities are in the U.S. and we’re home to four in the top 10.
- New York City takes the top spot, thanks to the 384-thousand 500 millionaires living there.
- There are also 818 centimillionaires and 66 billionaires in the Big Apple, according to the report.
- California’s Bay Area, which includes San Francisco and Silicon Valley, comes in a close second, with 342-thousand 400 millionaire residents.
- They actually have more billionaires living there than New York, with 82 calling the Bay Area home.
