National BBQ Day! Yelp Ranked the Top 10 BBQ Cities in the U.S.

Happy National Barbecue Day! It's supposed to be the unofficial start of grilling season. So if you already fired up the grill last weekend, be embarrassed. You totally jumped the gun.

It's only been a thing for about a decade, and no one's sure who came up with it . . . but probably someone trying to sell grills.

May is also National Barbecue Month, which, supposedly, the Barbecue Industry Association came up with in 1981 . . . also to sell grills.

Anyway, Yelp just celebrated National Barbecue Day by ranking the Top 10 barbecue CITIES in the U.S. They based it on reviews of the top barbecue restaurants. And the top two are both in Texas . . .

1. Austin

2. San Antonio

3. Kansas City, Missouri

4. Memphis, Tennessee

5. Charleston, South Carolina

6. Greenville, South Carolina

7. Honolulu. It's good if you like Korean or Hawaiian-style barbecue.

8. Tulsa, Oklahoma

9. Durham, North Carolina

10. Nashville

Memorial Day is the "unofficial start of SUMMER," but also a popular first day to fire up the grill. So if you're waiting another week, that's okay too.
