Here Are the New Additions to the World Video Game Hall of Fame

The World Video Game Hall of Fame has announced its Class of 2025. Four new games are being honored. They are:

 

 

1.  Defender, a 1981 arcade game that raised the bar on difficulty from simpler stuff like Space Invaders.

 

 

2.  Quake, the 1996 follow-up to Doom, which introduced a 3D engine that's still used today.

 

 

3.  GoldenEye 007, which became one of the best-selling Nintendo 64 games upon its release in 1997.

 

 

4.  Tamagotchi, the digital pets introduced in 1996.

 

 

Games that did NOT make the cut this year are:  Age of EmpiresAngry BirdsCall of Duty 4: Modern WarfareFroggerGolden TeeHarvest MoonMattel Football, and NBA 2K.
