Wolfgang Van Halen Drops New Single, "The End," As Mammoth

Wolfgang Van Halen has unveiled "The End," the lead single from his band Mammoth's forthcoming third studio album. This high-energy track showcases Van Halen's signature guitar work, featuring a tapping riff he conceived even before forming Mammoth. And yes, there’s a video for the single…a cinematic music video directed by Robert Rodriguez and Greg Nicotero. The video pays homage to Rodriguez's 1996 film “From Dusk Till Dawn,” depicting a rock band performing at a dive bar that descends into chaos. Notable appearances include Danny Trejo, Slash, Myles Kennedy, and Van Halen's mother, Valerie Bertinelli. You can see the video to the right.

Mammoth has also now announced "The End Tour," a U.S. headline run commencing on October 31st and concluding on December 7th. The tour will visit cities including Las Vegas, Atlanta, Chicago, and Detroit, with Myles Kennedy joining as a special guest. Tickets go on sale to the public on May 9, following an artist presale starting Monday. Click here for a full list of tour dates.

How Did Bruce Springsteen Get the Nickname "The Boss", and Does He Like It?

Did you ever wonder how Bruce Springsteen earned the nickname "The Boss"? It's not as sexy as you might think.

It's because he paid his band and crew. He says, quote, "'Hey, boss.' You know? 'Are we getting paid this week?' 'Sure.'

"And then some DJ heard it and started using it on the radio and it, you know, went viral, as they say. And so there it is."

Does Bruce LIKE being called The Boss? Eh. He says, quote, "[It has] dogged me my whole life, still does. I've gotten used to it. I've given up and gotten used to it, I suppose."

Stagecoach Drinkers Put Coachella Drinkers to Shame

If you made it to Stagecoach last weekend, there's a good chance you're STILL nursing a hangover . . .

Here's a fun fact making the rounds on social: Historically, Stagecoach sells more alcohol in ONE DAY than both weekends of Coachella COMBINED.

The account that shared it didn't link to a source, so we can't say if that's really true or not. But a Palm Springs news station did a story a few years ago about how there were more alcohol-related ARRESTS at Stagecoach.

It's just a boozier event in general, with more fans drinking LIQUOR instead of hard seltzer or beer. The Instagram post joked "country fans don't mess around . . . boots hit the ground, and the drinks start flowing."

Someone who said they've bartended at both festivals agreed in the comments. They said "kids" drink at 5:00 PM . . . "cowboys" start at 8:00 in the morning.
