Academy Members Must Now Watch All Oscar-Nominated Movies Before Voting

It's a bit crazy to think that up until now, members of the Academy were NOT required to watch every Oscar-nominated film before voting. But that will all change for next year's 98th Oscars.

 

 

A new rule requires voting members to watch all nominated movies in each category. Although, it doesn't mention HOW the members will prove it.

 

 

The Academy also made a statement on A.I., saying that it'll, quote, "neither help nor harm the chances of achieving a nomination."

 

 

The next Oscars will take place Sunday, March 15th, 2026 with Conan O'Brien returning to host.
