Big Bear's famous bald eagles, Jackie and Shadow, are parents again.
One of the three eggs in their nest hatched shortly after eleven o'clock Monday night. A pip, the first sign of hatching, appeared on the egg on Sunday afternoon. Jackie and Shadow may soon become parents to two eaglets. On Monday, a pip could be seen on a second egg via the 24-seven live-streamed camera monitoring the nest. The growing eagle family lives in a tree 145 feet above the forest near Big Bear Lake. This is the first time one of their eggs has hatched since 2022.
