Sam's Club Is Testing a Holiday Hot Dog Monstrosity . . . That Combines Thanksgiving and Christmas
Costco's hot dog debuted 40 YEARS AGO, priced at $1.50. They've never changed that price . . . so it's become legendary. But Sam's Club has an interesting idea to compete: A holiday hot dog MONSTROSITY.
They're testing something called the HOLI-DOG, and the toppings combine Thanksgiving and Christmas. And they're pretty wild.
The menu options include: A hot dog topped with turkey on one side, and prime rib roast on the other . . . a dog topped with mashed potatoes on one side, and Christmas cookies on the other . . . and one topped with pumpkin pie on one side, and candy canes on the other.
Unfortunately, there are only a few locations offering this insanity so far. One location in New York City TODAY only . . . one in Nashville on Monday . . . and one in Dallas NEXT Thursday.
The holi-dogs also aren't available in the warehouse, they're being served at a pop-up cart just outside.
It's unclear if they plan on making this a regular thing if it's a success . . . but it sounds like they DO plan on stopping by more stores in other cities in the future.
They suggest that adventurous people could MAKE THEIR OWN holi-dog concoctions at home, with toppings like: Stove Top stuffing . . . sweet potato mash . . . mac-and-cheese . . . Brussels sprouts . . . bacon-wrapped-shrimp . . . and cranberry sauce.
If you share your creation on social media, you can tag Sam's Club, with the hashtag #holidog, and tell them which locations should get the holi-dog next.

After 20 Years, Chi-Chi's Is Making a Comeback
Here's something that no one had on their Bingo card for 2024: After 20 years, the Tex-Mex chain Chi-Chi's is making a comeback.
Chi-Chi's launched back in the '70s . . . and became a sensation in the '80s and '90s, with more than 200 locations nationwide. One of its classic items was the fried ice cream.
But then it went through a bankruptcy . . . ownership changes . . . and the final blow came in 2003, when some bad green onions at Chi-Chi's led to the largest hepatitis A outbreak in American history. Hundreds of people got sick and four people died. The chain was basically defunct within months.
Some salsa products have remained in stores ever since . . . and up until earlier this year, there was a single Chi-Chi's still open in Vienna, Austria. Randomly.
Anyway, a man named Michael McDermott is the son of the original owner, Marno McDermott. And he'll open new restaurants under the Chi-Chi's name next year.
The first locations will be in Minnesota, which is also the state where the original restaurant opened back in 1976.
It's probably safe to assume that the fried ice cream will be back . . . and, for better or worse, the green onions.
