During Fox NFL Sunday this past weekend, there was a Veteran's Day tribute. And all the hosts were shown standing during the national anthem with their hands on their hearts.
All except Michael Strahan, whose hands were clasped in front of him.
The reaction was INSANE. People were freaking out, wondering if Michael was protesting something. There were even calls for Fox to FIRE him. (???) It got ridiculous enough that Strahan finally had to address it.
In an Instagram post, he said he was NOT protesting anything or making a statement, and he LOVES the military. In fact, his father was a major in the Army, so he grew up on a military base.
Still, he apologized, saying he got "caught up in the moment," and once he realized his hand wasn't on his heart, he thought he'd look like a fool if he changed his stance.
He added, quote, "If that offended any of our military and veterans, I apologize to you because that was never my intent.
"I'm a product of the military, a proud lover of the military, and proud lover of all those who serve before, now, and who will serve in the future."
