Dave Navarro Started Playing Guitar Again Thanks To Steely Dan

Dave Navarro owes a debt to Steely Dan, of all people. The Jane’s Addiction co-founder says he stopped playing guitar for over a year after suffering through long COVID and the death of Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, who was working on an album with Navarro when he passed away. What got him back to playing? “I started listening to Steely Dan in my house, and it was like, ‘That is some weird playing!’” He started learning Steely Dan songs, which somehow led him to a “deep dive” into Eddie Van Halen.

Noel and Liam Gallagher Are Bringing Oasis Back

They announced a string of dates in the U.K. next summer, including four gigs at Wembley Stadium in July and August. Tickets will go on sale on Saturday.

(WARNING: Check out the UNCENSORED announcement video.)

Oasis haven't played together since August of 2009. The Gallagher Brothers have spent the years since sniping and insulting each other. Although to be fair, they were doing that while the band was still together, too.

(Here's a history of their HATRED for each other.)

The prevailing joke online is that you should aim to buy tickets for the FIRST show, because who knows if they'll stay together past that. That is, of course, if they even MAKE IT to that first show before having a big blowout.

2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the band's biggest album, "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?"

Did You Know There Was a Height Requirement to Join KISS???

If you've ever wondered what was more important to KISS, style or substance, this story will clear it up for you.

Marty Friedman was contacted by KISS many years ago, when they were "changing guitar players." Marty had played for Megadeth from 1990 through 2000, so he obviously had the chops.

But he didn't get past the phone interview . . . because of his HEIGHT. They were looking for someone over six feet tall, but he told them he was only 5-foot-7.

And that was it. Marty says, quote, "I totally get it, but I would've done anything. If there was an operation available at the time, I would've done it."

Marty didn't say when this happened, but Tommy Thayer was the last guitarist to take over the Ace Frehley role, and he joined KISS in 2002.
