A Statue of Johnny Cash Is Going to Be Added to the U.S. Capitol

The Man in Black is going to Washington D.C. It was just made official that a statue of Johnny Cash will be added to the National Statuary Hall Collection.

This is a collection that features two statues from every state highlighting their most notable residents. Since Johnny was born in Arkansas, he will be honored for that state. (Sorry, Tennessee.)

Johnny's statue will replace the current statue of James P. Clarke, who was a former governor and senator from Arkansas. His statue has been in the Capitol since 1921, but James is a notable supporter of white supremacy, so his bust is being removed.

This even has the support from James' great-great-grandson, who is an Arkansas state senator himself, and also thought the statue should be removed.

This makes room for the Man in Black . . . And I bet that statue is gonna look real good.

And who knows, maybe if the people who run our government have to see Johnny's face every day, they'll start making better decisions.

Taproot Drummer Earned A Penny From Snapchat For Royalties

If you’ve ever wondered how much rock stars make from streaming, Taproot drummer Jarrod Montague has the info. Montague posted a scan of his streaming royalty statement for the fourth quarter of 2023 on Facebook, and the numbers aren’t impressive. For the three months at the end of last year, Jarrod earned the most from Apple, bringing in a “cool” $58.30. At the bottom of the heap was Snapchat, which sent the drummer a grand total of a penny. “My kids will be so proud,” Montague said in his post.
